The US-facing passport

A Caribbean citizenship with an American door.

Grenada occupies a position no other Caribbean programme can claim. It is the only one whose citizens qualify for the US E-2 investor visa — a treaty route that allows you to live in the United States and run a qualifying business, without joining the queue for a US green card. For entrepreneurs and families with American plans, that single distinction changes everything.

Beyond the E-2, Grenada offers one of the region's strongest travel profiles: visa-free access to China as well as the UK, the Schengen area and Singapore — a rare combination that opens both East and West.

As with the region's leading programmes, there is no requirement to live in, visit or travel to Grenada. Citizenship extends to your family and passes to future generations by descent.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked.

What is the US E-2 treaty, and why does Grenada matter?
Grenada is the only Caribbean citizenship-by-investment country with an E-2 investor treaty with the United States. As a Grenadian citizen you may apply for a US E-2 visa to live in the United States and operate a qualifying business, without pursuing a US immigrant visa. Qualifying conditions apply, and we will talk you through them.
How long does the process take?
Standard processing is typically around four to eight months from a complete application, subject to government due diligence and current processing volumes.
Do I need to live in or visit Grenada?
No. There is no residency, physical presence or interview requirement to obtain or retain citizenship. You are not required to visit Grenada at any stage of the process.
Does Grenada offer visa-free access to China?
Yes. Grenadian citizens enjoy visa-free access to China alongside the UK, the Schengen area, Singapore and more than 145 destinations in total — an unusually broad travel profile for a Caribbean passport.
Can I keep my current citizenship?
Yes. Grenada permits dual citizenship, and there is no obligation to inform your country of origin. Whether your existing nationality permits dual citizenship is a separate question we will help you consider.
